With Google business model on the other hand, it's personal data is personal date, regardless of how old the hardware it's harvested from. With Apple business model, it's better when customers buy new hardware. But I'm pretty sure that before this Macbook becomes completely useless for me, I will have no choice but to use Chrome, whether I like it or not. I mainly use Safari, but every so often and it's occurring more often now, I end at websites that tells me I need to update my browser or "Safari can not connect to server". If you need help If youre having difficulty getting the links to work, try again using Safari. Follow the onscreen instructions to install macOS. I never use Chrome and hardly use Firefox. Open your Applications folder and double-click the macOS installer, named Install Version Name. Chrome on the hand, and i just checked, is on the newest version mentioned here. Firefox been stuck on version 78 for a few years now (newest version is 98) but I'm still getting minor and security updates. And Safari haven't been and most likely never will, updated since about 2019. It's been stuck on El Capitan since around 2015. One of my Macbook I use that still serves 90% of my needs, is a late 2008 (aluminum) model. Before posting here I searched this forum and the fine web without finding other reports of this problem, which also suggests that I have something messed up locally.I can't imagine a reason, why I would install Google Chrome on my MacBook Pro at all I suspect the problem is with my setup, because my colleagues run the same Electron app in Mac VMs on the same version of Fusion that I do, and they do not see this problem. In the settings of the affected VMs I have confirmed that 3D graphics is disabled, which is the only setting that I can find that seems relevant. I observe this problem only in Mac VMs, not in other OSs, and only on Chrome (and related) versions 100 or more recent. In the attached screen recording Chrome.mp4 you can see that some of the expected browser elements are entirely invisible or flicker upon mouseover. Anything that can be interacted with is still there, as can be confirmed by hovering over, clicking on, or blindly entering text into the invisible area, but the areas remain white. Since version 100, Google Chrome (and apps built with Electron using Chromium 100 or greater) in Mac VMs renders with what appear to be blank white spaces.
